about

Ambient music inspired, in part, by Holger Czukay & David Sylvian's albums "Plight & Premonition" & "Flux & Mutability." The concept features the story of a space probe sent to look for life in space, and the empty worlds it finds there.

Jane Elphinstone played flute and harp; Simon Robinson played knife guitar. I noodled around with a radio, guitar FX pedals and some busted-ass synths, including a Moog Rogue, A Roland SH101, and Octave CAT and a Sequential Circuits Pro 600. Almost all of the equipment was knackered in some way. The tracks were recorded in 2003 as jams and assembled later on twin DAT recorders and cassette machine. All FX changes and mixes are performed live. My fingers are all one eighth of an inch shorter because of this flippin' LP and I still suffer from repetitive-knob-twiddling-injury syndrome to this very day.

Tracks 1 & 5 are free to download.

Delia Derbyshire, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Jerry Goldsmith are among my muses. ... more
